Many of the teenagers who are aging out of the foster care system are overwhelmed by everyday adult tasks such as finding housing, managing a household budget, and succeeding at a job. The YES program pairs these at-risk teens with folks in the community who can serve as their guide to all things adulthood. I joined Partnerships for Children as a 'Youth Empowerment and Success' (YES) Mentor almost two years ago and it has been an incredibly rewarding experience watching my own mentee, Alyssa, succeed and grow.

Partnerships for Children is an invaluable resource for children and families in the care of Child Protective Services (CPS). Beyond the YES program, PFC also runs the Rainbow Room which serves as a free supply hub for children coming through Child Protective Services. More than 650 children are provided with access to clothes, toiletries and school supplies through the Rainbow Room each month.
